Fair use rationale for Image:Beth gibbons .jpg

[edit]

Image:Beth gibbons .jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have a picture

[edit]

If it's acceptable, then I'll post it with rights to use it. It's viewable at | this url. Should be obvious which it is. Same event as the current pic, but a little clearer. All in favor? Micahmedia (talk) 07:30, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aight, after reviewing the previous discussion, I'm going to just replace the current with my picture and if anyone objects, they can revert it. Micahmedia (talk) 08:25, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Edit

[edit]

The sentence, "Annie Lennox has joined forces with Gibbons and 22 other female artists to raise the awareness of the transmission of HIV to unborn children in Africa." should possibly be changed, as right now due to Beth's rather unfortunate last name it sounds like Annie was joining forces with half the zoo. Unsourced

[edit]

Removed this unsourced bit:

Gibbons is admired by artists as diverse as Dr. Dre and Robert Plant; the latter has used Gibbons' musical associates in his own projects.

This article is becoming shorter and shorter... --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 19:05, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Outdoor Festivals

[edit]

Beth, with Portishead, has performed at Coachella and other festivals. This article currently says she doesn't do it, even though she has. Hazelrenfield (talk) 07:07, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mentions that Beth Gibbons is agoraphobic, but she played in big rock concerts such as the Corona Capital in Mexico City, where she ran to embrace the public while the band was performing the last number, "Carry On". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.118.183.225 (talk) 22:23, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life Section

[edit]

...It reads like it was written by a stalker. All unsourced statements about Beth feels X, Beth doesn't like Y, Beth is Z. I don't know much about Wiki style, but this can't be right... at the very least, it reads HORRIBLE. 174.106.93.215 (talk) 05:08, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an ad for a personals website in the references section... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.142.251.196 (talk) 15:48, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace

[edit]

The article says she was born in Exeter, but of the two sources, one is a redirect to some kind of get-rich-quick site, and the other is IMDb, which didn't pass WP:RS last time I checked (and also gives Bristol as her birthplace). I'm willing to assume good faith on the part of the long-ago editor, but can we lose those two refs and find a good one? Sophie means wisdom (talk) 18:21, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
